Tony Piaskowy manages USAID’s flagship urban program and the office’s urban policy support project. In addition to frequent global field work, he serves as the lead on the urban team for the Asia region, and on issues pertaining to land use and urban food security.
Educational Background
Mr. Piaskowy holds a master’s degree in International Service from American University’s School of International Service in Washington, DC and a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning and Development from the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
Regional Experience
Mr. Piaskowy has policy and research experience in more than a dozen developing countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East and South America. His field work is concentrated in East Africa and Southeast Asia.
Previous Experience
Before joining USAID in 2011, Piaskowy spent seven years managing community development projects for poor and vulnerable populations in Chicago’s inner city and in many Indiana small towns.
