The Ethiopia Strengthening Land Tenure and Administration Program contributed to: a) familiarization of the GOE to similar experiences in other countries in land leasing arrangements; b) harmonization of regional land policies on issues such as women’s inheritance and leasing arrangements; c) expansion of cadastral work; and d) education of farmers of their land use rights. The project formulated the “Action Plan for Land Tenure”, which was adopted by the government as its framework.
